FAQs

Are your teams already full?
Our teams are not already full! We encourage you to register for tryouts and/or to be evaluated. If you have questions or want to know where you stand going into tryouts, please don't hesitate to contact us directly. We are pretty open and transparent and are happy to discuss and help you through the process.

Is there a tryout fee?
There is no fee to tryout. Players do need to be registered and complete the waiver (which we will send to you) in order to tryout.

What age do I tryout for?
To be eligible for U11 in the upcoming season, you must have been born on or after July 1, 2015
To be eligible for U12 in the upcoming season, you must have been born on or after July 1, 2014
To be eligible for U14 in the upcoming season, you must have been born on or after July 1, 2012
To be eligible for U16 in the upcoming season, you must have been born on or after July 1, 2010
To be eligible for U17 in the upcoming season, you must have been born on or after July 1, 2009 (*there is an age/grade exception for 11th graders who are born before this date, contact us directly if you are interested and think you might be eligible)

Can players play up?
We do consider players for teams older than their age group. Contact us directly if you have questions.

Why aren't U13, U15, or U18 listed?
We won't have teams in those age groups this year. We are starting small and adding teams slowly. U13 players can tryout for U14 and U15 players can tryout for U16.

What is a practice player?
We do offer "practice player" spots to players who either do not make the travel team, or who don't want to compete in travel indoor, usually because of conflict with another sport -- such as beach volleyball or a high school sport. If you are only interested in being a practice player, please let us know before tryouts. Our practice players participate fully and equally in all practice sessions and get the same coaching as players on the tournament roster.

What are you looking for in a player?
We believe that a great volleyball team needs three things: Physicality, Ball Control, and Teamwork. Our ideal player is Physical (big/fast/strong/athletic), highly Skilled (Serve, Pass, Set, Hit, Block, Dig), and is a great Teammate. Since nobody is perfect, we understand that players bring different strength and weaknesses to a team. Think about which of those aspects you can contribute to a team and bring your best self to tryouts!
